Spina Bifida Association of Alabama

Spina Bifida is the most commonly-occurring, permanently disabling birth defect in the United States. It occurs when the spine of the baby fails to close during the first month of pregnancy. The effects of Spina Bifida are different for each person and there is no known cause.

We are a 501(c)(3) charity dedicated to promoting the prevention of Spina Bifida through folic acid awareness while enhancing the lives of all affected by Spina Bifida.
